Suzuki exhibits announced for 2013 Tokyo Motor Show

Suzuki Motor Corporation announced the product and exhibit line-up for the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show 2013. The small car specialist has lined up a number of models which could give some insights of the future Suzuki models. This year the booth’s theme is: “Let’s Create a Brand New Story”.

Suzuki will showcase unique concept models based on the slogan “Small Cars for a Big Future”.
 
Main Exhibits :-

Crosshiker: 
 


 
The Crosshiker is a compact crossover, based on the REGINA platform concept car first shown at the 2011 Tokyo Moto Show which is packed with lightweight and fuel-efficient technologies. It features a size of a compact car while weighing 810kg, the weight of a minicar. With a newly developed 1L 3-cylinder engine (which could possibly replace the K-Series in future), it strikes a balance between power performance and environmental performance.
 
 

X-LANDER:
 
 


 
The X-LANDER is real 4WD hybrid with a distinctive personality based on the Jimny compact 4WD vehicle. The X-Lander is equipped with a 1.3L engine and a newly developed automatically controlled manual transmission. The highlight is the use of lightweight hybrid system which is equipped with a highly-efficient motor built onto a 4WD system.



iV-4 compact SUV:
 


 
One of the important models which was unveiled at the 2013 Frankfrut motor show will also be showcased at the Tokyo Motor show. The iV-4 compact SUV is equipped with Suzuki’s next-generation 4WD system ALLGRIP and could soon be signed off for production considering growing Compact SUV segment and all Global players launching a model in the same segment.

Scania inaugurates manufacturing facility in India



Scania Commercial Vehicles India announced inauguration of their first manufacturing facility in the Indian market. Scania now a part of the Volkswagen Group plans to manufacture about 2,500 heavy haulage trucks and 1,000 inter-city buses and coaches annually.




The facility is located Narasapura, Karnataka and the Swedish commercial vehicle maker have invested Rs 250 crore for setting up the facility. Currently the localization is 18% for trucks and 100% for bus bodies. Scania will also employ over 800 people at this facility within five years.


Scania started production of trucks for mining and off-road in June by importing kits and will roll out buses from the first quarter of 2014.

The manufacturing facility will serve as company’s head office and centre for all commercial operations across the country which consists of final assembly of trucks with bodywork and building of complete coaches along with a service workshop and a central parts warehouse for timely service.



Scania current sells the P-Series, G-Series and R-Series trucks in India. The P410 is being assembled while the G460 and R500 are imported. The bus range includes Metro Link and the company has already bagged an order of 120 busses from Mumbai-based Siddhivinayak Travels.

The Most Expensive Mercedes-Benz


This supercar is owned by a Swiss businessman Ueli Anliker & is called “Anliker McLaren SLR 999 Red Gold Dream”, the wheels and headlights are made of 24 carat gold beautifully painted in 25 layers of red paint with 5 kg of gold dust worked into it. The 5.4 litre engine has power boosted from 640 bhp to 999 bhp which gives the top speed of 210 mph (340 km/h).






A team of professionals spent around 30,000 hours to build this car and have spent more then £3.5 million ($5.5 million) working on this vehicle.
This is now being sold for £7 million ($10.9 million).

Mercedes G63 AMG Dubai Police Car, Brabus tuned for 700 HP



 
Dubai Police now embraces TUNE IT! SAFE! concept in the UAE with BRABUS B63S – 700 WIDESTAR in Police livery celebrating its world premiere at the Dubai International Motor Show 2013 at Dubai World Trade Center. The ideology promotes safe, responsible tuning in Germany since 2005. TUNE IT! SAFE! looks to promote greater awareness of safety among tuners and to provide important educational advice.







Tuning company BRABUS took up the task of delivering Dubai Police with a B63S – 700 WIDESTAR, which is based on the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG.

The high-performance power off-roader with 515 kW / 700 hp will accompany the BRABUS upgraded G-Class from Mercedes-Benz in line of duty. BRABUS B63S – 700 WIDESTAR AWD is powered by a V8 biturbo engine.















The police vehicle will reach top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph), and goes from 0-100 km in 4.9 seconds. This WIDESTAR wide version comes fitted with 23? BRABUS “Platinum Edition” monoblock forged wheels. Dynamic Ride Control suspension offers superior driving comfort and dynamic handling. max torque stands at 960 Nm at 2.000 to 4.500 rpm.
